KBA Membership


The Karangahape Road Business Association (KBA) is one of Auckland's 50 Business Improvement Districts (BID), working in collaboration with Auckland Council. Publicly, the association trades as Karangahape Road — a place that celebrates diversity, inspires culture, nurtures creativity and supports opportunities. The area is one of Auckland's most sought after due to the welcoming and eclectic environment.


If you run a business within the Karangahape Road precinct (see map below), you can become a KBA Member by simply filling out the form below.


If you are not eligible to become a KBA Member, you can still participate in the community by paying to become a KBA Associate Member. More details on this below.

KBA Membership Offerings


Auckland Council collects a targeted rate from all property owners within the KBA district, which is passed onto the KBA. (See a map of the KBA district below.)


For business owners within the KBA district it is free to become a full member. However, to do so you will need to fill out the form above. If you are already a member, but are not yet on our website, please contact planning@kroad.com.


Anyone placed outside of the KBA district is welcome to become an associate member at a cost of $300 or $550 p.a (incl. GST) depending on the size of the organisation.

  • Advocacy to local bodies over major works planned for the precinct.
  • Advocacy to local bodies over issues relating to service provision.

  • A point of contact for general business inquiries relating to the precinct
  • A security guard on foot-patrol from 10am – 6pm on weekdays.
  • A night security guard on foot patrol on weekends from 10pm – 3am.



Associate Membership Benefits

  • Promotion via @kroadnz social media platforms and Karangahape Road newsletters to an engaged total audience of 14,000.
  • An invitation to the KBA Annual General Meeting where the precinct's business plan, marketing and accounts are reviewed.
  • Access to the KBA team for valuable information, advice and support.
