| Bio |
Nora likes her arts out on the streets. She learnt her trade in and out of London Art Schools in the swinging sixties and finds K Road today full of the same energy as Brick Lane had then - a mix of exotic cultures and lifestyles alongside an old world community of people and buildings with a marvellous tolerance and good humour throughout. Her art career has spanned tertiary teaching, solo exhibitions, deckchair design and gallery management. In 2000 she wrote a master's thesis on Protest Banners in New Zealand. She also writes poems and sings with an a capella gospel choir. As a bannermaker she has operated in the outsider margins of the visual arts, working with all kinds of rural, refugee, prison, and mental health communities. |
